Dorman High School students heard a moving and impactful message on the importance of driving safely. Many of you may remember that four Dorman students tragically passed away in car accidents this past spring. This deeply affected our Dorman family and the entire District Six community.
Recently, students heard from a local community member who has experienced a similar tragedy. Mr. Dennis Brown lost his son in a car accident in 2012. Since then, he has made it his mission to share his family’s story in hopes of helping others make safe choices and avoid similar heartbreak.
Mr. Brown’s message encouraged students to think carefully about the decisions they make behind the wheel and to always prioritize safety.
Following his presentation, teachers continued the conversation in classrooms through follow-up lessons that reinforced the importance of responsible driving. Students were also given the opportunity to sign a safe-driving pledge.
We are deeply grateful to Mr. Brown for his courage and transparency in helping our Cavaliers understand how one choice can change everything.
