ABOUT DR. WORKMAN

I am Amy Workman, and I love being a part of many avenues of Art Education—from teaching to creating to learning to administration. I have taught in SC public schools for 22 years at the middle and high school levels. I currently teach sculpture and AP 3D Art & Design at the high school level. I am also the Fine Arts Coordinator for District 6. I thoroughly enjoy working with students in the classroom to enhance their love of art as well as lending a helping hand to my K–12 Fine Arts teachers so they may continue to build strong Arts programs at their schools. In addition to my work in K–12 public schools, I enjoy being a higher education adjunct to help prepare and advance teachers’ understanding and expertise in art education. I am also the President-elect of SCAEA, where I assist our amazing association in advocating for art education across our state.

Beyond Art Education, I absolutely love adventures in nature. I would consider my tent my home away from home and my paddleboard my secondary mode of transportation! Hiking the mountains of NC or paddling down the rivers of NC and SC are my favorite modes of escape! I especially love it when my family and fur babies join along on my outdoor adventures.

AWESOME ARTWORK BY DR. WORKMAN'S STUDENTS!
