Winners Awarded Monthly

1. Build Your College List: $500

Get started exploring colleges and build a college list with six or

more colleges on BigFuture™.

Students can add to and update their list each month to earn additional entries.


Junior Year

2. Practice for the SAT: $1,000

Get ready for test day with Official

SAT® Practice on Khan Academy® by practicing for at least 6+ hours.

Students earn additional entries for each hour of practice over 6 (up to 20 hours).

3. Improve Your Score: $2,000

Show how practice pays off by

improving your SAT score by 100+points—either from the PSAT/NMSQT or a previous SAT—and practice for 12 hours using Official SAT Practice.


Spring Junior Year–

Winter Senior Year

4. Strengthen Your College List: $500

Strengthen your college list on

BigFuture with a mix of safety,

match, and reach schools.


Summer–Fall Senior Year

5. Complete the FAFSA: $1,000

Fill out the free government form

to apply for financial aid. Students will be asked to submit their FAFSA confirmation email if selected for the scholarship (undocumented and international students are exempt).Students who are ineligible to complete

the FAFSA will have a way to opt out of that action within the College Board Opportunity Scholarships platform and will still be eligible for the final Complete Your Journey scholarship if they complete the other five actions.


Fall–Winter Senior Year

6. Apply to Colleges: $1,000

Apply to at least two colleges. For your students who applied for rolling or early admissions, ensure they complete the Apply Scholarship verifications.


Fall–Winter Senior Year

Complete the Journey: $40,000

Complete all six scholarship steps.

Better Business Bureau Upstate South Carolina Student of Integrity
Scholarship Award (juniors): This scholarship recognizes high school
juniors who personify high character through leadership, community service,
academic achievement and overall personal integrity. Dorman High School
may submit only one application. Application is attached. Deadline: Completed
application must be turned in to Mrs. Polson in Guidance by May 1 (extended).


Converse College Junior Fellows Program: (juniors) Juniors interested in Converse College must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and demonstrate exceptional academic talent and a passion for learning.    Interested juniors must complete a self -nomination form which is attached below.  Deadline:  April 21


Furman University Scholars Program (juniors) Student with an interest in Furman University  must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and at least a 1360 on the SAT or PSAT or 29 ACT to apply.   Students must complete a self-nomination form which is attached below.  Deadline: May 22


Quest Bridge College Prep Scholarship (juniors) This scholarship programs helps juniors with a strong academic record and an annual household income of less than $65,000 with scholarships and admission to highly selective colleges.  Information and application is available online at www.questbridge.org. Deadline:  Extended April 21


South Carolina Business Week (sophomores-seniors):  This business education program, sponsored by the SC Chamber of Commerce, is July 21-26 at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.  Each year SC Business Week present four scholarships selected from the students that attend.  Applicants must rank in the top one-third of their class and demonstrate leadership skills through school and community activities. Accepted students must pay a $75 registration fee. Information and application is available online at www.scbusinessweek.comDeadline:  April 30


Wofford Scholars Program: (juniors) Applicants should be committed to applying to Wofford by either their Early Decision or Early Action Deadline. Applicants must rank in the top 10% and have a minimum 1300 SAT or 28 ACT (composite).  Applications is attached below.  Deadline:  May 29
